I wonder sometimes
delicatesoul: Why do I care so much? The more I care the more I hurt. (this reminds me of my late experience of the ironic sensation of a forced subtraction to my care, in order to be able to continue with the care at all. to care less seems to be the only way to care enough but not so much it consumes my serenity.)

dyinginback: It would be easy to call you a bird, because that’s what everyone wants—to be small and hollow and easily lost in the branches of dead trees. I could call you a bird but everyone else is a bird. Sparrows and finches and swallows roosting in disused chimneys. You’re so much more than that. I’d call you a bird only when there are no other names for you.
